Mental Health Workshops - March 12
Posting Date(s)
We know that a healthy lifestyle, support, balance, and being part of a
caring community are integral to positive mental health. Join Student
Affairs and the Canadian Mental Health Association for three unique mental
health workshops on stress management, community resources, and
counselling. As a part of Mental Health Week at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, check out the
following workshops.
Stress Management
Location: Student Affairs, Boardroom A
Time: 11:30 am–12:30 pm
This workshop helps individuals identify the main contributors to work/life
stress, and learn coping strategies to achieve a sense of balance,
satisfaction and success in their family and work lives. Presented by Reid
Burke, Executive Director of Canadian Mental Health Association (PEI
division) this workshop will also focus on community resources in support
of mental health.
Bringing Yoga off the Mat
Location: Student Affairs, Boardroom A
Time: 1:00–1:50 pm
Did you ever wonder what people meant when they said that yoga has many
benefits? Did you know that all of these benefits weren’t just physical?
This workshop is geared to motivate others to bring the concepts applied in
yoga class, off the mat and into their everyday lives. No previous yoga
experience or a mat are required for this workshop.
Counselling 101: What really happens behind closed doors?
Location: Student Affairs, Boardroom A
Time: 2:30–3:30 pm
What really happens in counselling? Is it for me? Will it help my friend?
Counselling as a process seems to bring a lot of questions for people.
This conversation-based workshop, hosted by a counsellor with
Student Affairs is intended for students, staff and faculty
who have questions on counselling.
