The following message was distributed on behalf of the Office of the President to students, faculty, and staff on March 14 via their @upei.ca emails.

Dear Members of the University Community,

Although we are still in the midst of the winter semester, Spring is around the corner, and we are looking forward to celebrating the Class of 2022. It is with great enthusiasm that I announce that we are proceeding with plans to host the four days of Convocation 2022 ceremonies in May in person, subject to PEI Chief Public Health Office protocols in place at the time.

I am so excited that after an absence of two years, we will be able to once again recognize our graduates along with family, friends, faculty, staff, and peers in keeping with the time-honoured traditions of past Convocation ceremonies.

Each Convocation ceremony will be held in the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre on the following dates:

May 10—Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Nursing
May 11—Faculty of Business and Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
May 12—Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Education
May 13—Faculty of Science

We are happy to be planning in-person ceremonies but assure you that we are keeping the health and safety of our campus community top of mind. The Registrar’s Office is currently polling graduating students as to their attendance to determine the number of attendees to expect and to gauge operational requirements. Additional information regarding the ceremonies and related events, tickets, regalia, and safety measures, etc. will be added to upei.ca/convocation as it becomes available.

I look forward to celebrating our graduates’ resilience and achievement this May!

Regards,

Greg
