The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has recently joined the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Without Borders (AWB) Network, and Dr. Ann Braithwaite, professor of Diversity and Social Justice Studies at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, has been elected to the AWB board of directors.

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor of history at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, was among 78 Canadians named to the Order of Canada by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, on December 28, 2023.

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Panthers are looking forward to Minor Sports Weekend from January 5–7 when youth (ages 17 and under) wearing a jersey will be admitted free to any ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ home game.

Once again this year, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ and the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Alumni Association hosted a successful New Year's Day Levee with ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ interim President and Vice-Chancellor Greg Keefe greeting over 400 levee-goers.

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ and the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Alumni Association are hosting their annual New Year's Levee on Monday, January 1, 2024, from 11:30 am–1:00 pm, and all are welcome to attend.

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Department of Development and Alumni Engagement asks people to consider supporting and inspiring students by contributing to the 2023–2024 ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Annual Fund by the end of this year. All gifts made before midnight on December 31 will receive a 2023 charitable tax receipt. The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ thanks all those who have already given this year.

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Board of Governors welcomes three new members for a three-year team: Kristi Kelly; Donald K. MacKenzie; and Dr. Ajay Sahajpal.

Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor of the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, issued a message to students, staff, and faculty in the lead up to the holiday break, which begins Friday.

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has created seven new positions in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Office, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO), and Student Affairs. The seven positions are being funded by a combination of internal resources and new support from the Government of Prince Edward Island.
