ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Operational Ease-Back Plan
The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has embarked on a planning exercise to assist us in returning gradually and safely to campus after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, taking both academic and operational considerations into account.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has referred to the Government of Prince Edward Island’s four-phase plan, Renew PEI, Together, to help inform our plan for the University. We have also adopted a staged approach, with a look to both the short term and long term, while continuing to follow the public health guidance as laid out by our government officials. As a large, multi-dimensional public institution with many stakeholders and various settings, we will also take our own unique measures to ensure the safety of our vast and diverse community of students, staff, and faculty.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Operational Ease-Back Plan—Planning the Way Forward is like a dynamic road map. We will be constantly re-evaluating our situation and may need to change our route as we move forward. The Plan’s three stages and their start dates are:
Stage One – May 25, 2020
Stage Two – June 15, 2020
Stage Three – August 3, 2020
If you have questions about ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ's Operational Ease-Back Plan—Planning the Way Forward, please email communications@upei.ca or read the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions page.
Throughout all stages, the University will follow public health guidance, including limiting the size of gatherings and employing physical distancing.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ recognizes that students, staff, and faculty may continue to feel anxious about, and require support due, to COVID-19. ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has a number of supports for students through ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Student Affairs, including personal counselling (studentserv@upei.ca) and the International Student Office (irostu@upei.ca). ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ faculty and staff can access the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-387-4765. We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns.
