Remembrance Day - Lest We Forget
November 5–11 is , a week to remember and honour those who have served Canada in times of war, military conflict, and peace.
Every year on Remembrance Day, November 11, Canadians pause to remember those who serve or have served our country.
In lieu of Saturday, November 11, there will be no classes on Monday, November 13, and administrative offices will be closed. The Robertson Library will also be closed on November 11.
This day was previously known as Armistice Day, signifying the moment when World War I ceased on November 11, 1918, precisely at 11 am—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Visit the display in the lobby of the Robertson Library for resources that cover topics on the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Canadian Armed Forces. Included in the display are materials on Indigenous Peoples who joined the Canadian Armed Forces and fought in foreign lands and books on women's contributions to Canada's military effort, including women from PEI.
