The Asian and Korean Studies Programme, Faculty of Arts, 秀色短视频 invites applications for a sessional teaching position during the Winter 2025 semester, January 6鈥揂pril 25, 2025. We are seeking a well-qualified candidate to teach the following course: 

  AST 3090 Special Topic: Korean-International Trade Policy, Technology, and Diplomacy

        (online; lecture and seminar)

Course description

This new specialized course explores South Korea鈥檚 national and international dynamics of economy, trade, technology, and diplomacy. Students will learn and discuss its various economic, technological, and political ideas, strategies, and policies that have quickly developed this country and continue to strongly influence its ongoing situations under the challenge of global economy, trade, technology, and politics. 

Qualifications:

Master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees in Policy Studies and International Trade and Diplomacy (or Economics). Applications with graduate degrees in other programs (disciplines) will not be considered. Qualified candidates are required to be very knowledgeable of South Korea鈥檚 national-international trade, science, and technology policies and strategies. Your ability to speak, read, and write fluent (native or near-native) Korean will be an asset. 

This sessional position is also subject to final budgetary and administrative approval. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the Department of Asian Studies Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
