Graduate Research Assistant - Island Studies - Faculty of Arts
$24.00 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)

Island Studies (IIS and MAIS) and the Master’s in Cleantech Leadership Program (Faculty of Graduate Studies) at the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ invite applications for a Graduate Research Assistant for 22 weeks starting as soon as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researching course content for Policy and Equity courses for the Master’s in Cleantech Leadership program
- Researching course content for the Minor in Island Studies
- Responding to student inquiries
- Writing content for websites and social media pages
- Updating mailing lists
- Organizing meetings, Island Lectures Series, and other events
- Preparing budget reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a student enrolled in a graduate program at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ
- Strong communication skills, with emphasis on clear and concise written communication for professional purposes and able to adjust writing based on feedback
- Experience with MS Office and Google Suites, with the ability to organize information using templates in MS Word and Excel
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Island Studies, cleantech, or climate change (science, policy) would be a definite asset
- Event planning experience would be an asset
