The McDougall Faculty of Business at the 秀色短视频 has openings for a sessional instructor for the Summer 2025 semester. Priority will be given to members of the MFoB Sessional Roster who applied for the position and met the qualifications. Full-time and term contract Faculty Members are encouraged to apply and may be considered. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the courses offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

ACCT2020-1 Intro Accounting Part II 

May 12 to June 19, 2025 (Does not include exam period)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-8:30pm

This course focuses on understanding and applying the accounting equation, recording transactions and preparing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Differences between International Financial Reporting Standards and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises will be highlighted. Sound ethical judgment for financial statement preparation will be stressed. Emphasis is on accounting from a "preparer's" perspective. 

BUS2720-1 Human Resource Management

May 12 to June 19, 2025 (Does not include exam period)

Mondays & Wednesdays 5:30-8:30pm

Human Resource Management (HRM) has become a strategic function for both private and public organizations. This course provides an introduction to the conceptual and practical aspects of HRM. It focuses on the personnel processes involved in the procurement, development and maintenance of human resources, such as staffing, training and compensation. The course also includes a critical examination of current personnel issues and trends. 

BUS3850-1 Special Topics: Sustainable Business Practice

May 12 to June 19, 2025 (out-of-country travel involved)

This course is offered as part of the Maymester program

This course introduces you to environmental and social issues that influence business practice. You will explore sustainable business practices through fieldwork in the tourism sector in Costa Rica. We will discuss the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how applying the concepts from these goals and our learnings in Costa Rica can be harnessed for the Prince Edward Island tourism industry. This course focuses on understanding the SDGs and what you can do to develop more sustainably-aware action in your businesses, communities, and personal life.

BUS7950-1 Special Topics: Sustainable Business Leadership

May 2 to May 23, 2025 

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9:00am to 1:00pm

This course will deepen students鈥 understanding of sustainable business leadership, planning, change management, and innovation. By applying systems thinking and integrating the principles of the 鈥渢riple bottom line鈥 鈥 i.e., financial, social, and environmental considerations 鈥 students will learn how to align sustainability strategies with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. Through case studies, simulations, interactive discussions, and real-world projects, students will: 1) discover how sustainable businesses drive profitability while reducing their environmental footprint; 2) explore how sustainability initiatives create, deliver, and capture value; 3) learn to evaluate sustainable business opportunities and measure their impacts; and 4) develop skills to effectively communicate value propositions to inform and inspire decision-making.

BUS7950-3 Special Topics: Sustainable Business Practice

Qualifications for teaching undergraduate courses:

Successful applicants will have a minimum of a master's level degree along with demonstrated expertise in the course subject or equivalent with a combination of qualifications and experience. Priority will be given to applicants with a relevant PhD. 

For courses in Accounting, applicants must be a practicing CPA. 

Qualifications for teaching graduate courses

For an MBA course, we seek applicants with a strong combination of qualifications and experience. Minimum educational credentials include a PhD and/or Master鈥檚 degree in a relevant discipline, with priority given to applicants with a PhD. For applicants without a PhD, senior management experience in the course topic is required. Prior experience with teaching the relevant course, or closely related courses, will be considered an asset. 

Qualifications for Maymester Courses (BUS3850-1 & BUS7950-3): 

For this 鈥淢aymester鈥 course, we seek applicants with a strong combination of qualifications and experience. Minimum educational credentials include a PhD in a relevant discipline. Prior experience with teaching the relevant course (or similar courses) and/or involvement with academic program administration will be considered an asset. In addition to teaching and organizing the course (including travel and funding logistics), this course involves international travel to Costa Rica with a team of students in May 2025. Prior training on accompanying students abroad (through Aleas Campus) is required to teach this course.
