Four (4) Month Term Position - Asian Studies - Faculty of Arts
The Asian Studies (AST) Programme at the 秀色短视频 is pleased to invite applications for a 4-month (January 5, 2023鈥揂pril 30, 2023) term-contract position in AST, Faculty of Arts at the level of Assistant Professor or Lecturer. This position is funded by an international project grant for our Korean Studies Program. We are seeking a well-qualified candidate to teach three semester KS courses as follows:
Winter 2022 Semester (Jan. 5, 2023鈥揂pr. 31, 2023):
Korean Society and Culture (second year in-person)
Korean Religions (second year online)
Korean Cinema (third year in-person)

QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD (or equivalent) degree in any discipline of Humanities (or Social Sciences) specializing in Korean/Asian Studies is required for an Assistant Professor appointment. A PhD candidate (ABD) with a completed MA in Korean/Asian Studies or related area is also considered for a Lecturer appointment.
Successful candidates are expected to speak, read, or write Korean, do some productive research in the areas of their scholarly expertise, and have documented evidence of or potential for under-graduate teaching success in Korean Studies, East Asian Studies, or related courses. We also consider your experience or willingness to teach online courses and your ability to teach Korean Studies courses that are cross-listed with the History, Religious Studies, and Political Science departments.
