Four Month Term Position - Department of Asian Studies - Faculty of Arts
The Asian and Korean Studies Programme, Faculty of Arts, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ invites applications for a 4-month term-contract position, January 6–April 25, 2025, at the beginning level of Assistant Professor. We are seeking a well-qualified candidate to teach three semester courses during the Winter 2025 Semester as follows:
â–ª AST 2101 Korean Civilization
â–ª AST 2090 Special Topic: Education in Korea and Canada: Pedagogies and Cultural Contexts
â–ª AST 3201 Korean Art: Traditional and Modern

AST 2090: This course explores educational systems and pedagogical approaches in Korea and Canada, highlighting the influence of cultural contexts on teaching and learning practices. Students will engage in comparative analysis to understand the unique educational philosophies and strategies that are used in both countries.
Qualifications:
Master’s and doctoral degrees in Education, Art, and/or Art/Culture Education are required together with research experience in these fields. Qualified applicants are required to be very knowledgeable of the traditions and contemporary developments of Korean art, education, and civilization. This position prefers your experience of teaching the same courses on these topics, and your ability to speak, read, and write fluent (native or near-native) Korean will be an asset.
This position is also subject to final budgetary and administrative approval.
