Sessional Instructor - Department of Island Studies - Faculty of Arts - Fall 2024
The Island Studies Program in the Faculty of Arts at the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach IST 6230: Islands and Tourism – Fall 2024. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
IST 6230: ISLANDS AND TOURISM
This graduate course provides students with an interdisciplinary analysis of the nature of island tourism. It covers the motivations and marketing of island tourism, the development opportunities, impacts and challenges, mass tourism versus niche tourism and the application to different island contexts, including warm-water versus cold-water locations.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant should have a Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or area of study, preferably in Island Studies, or in a related discipline including tourism studies, business management or other disciplines in the social sciences. Those with a Master’s level degree and at least two years of teaching experience would also be considered for the position.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Sessional Roster of the academic unit.
