Graduate Research Assistant - Faculty of Nursing
$27.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay, as per PSAC Local 86000

Under the guidance of the primary investigators, Dr. Patrice Drake (associate professor), and Dr. Alyson Campbell (assistant professor) in the Faculty of Nursing at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, the graduate student research assistant will be responsible for scholarly activities related to a research project titled Early Pregnancy Loss: An Intervention to Improve Care for Childbearing Persons Experiencing Miscarriage in the Emergency Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the primary investigators the undergraduate student research assistant will assist with research activities related to conducting an environmental scan including:
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive, systematic process for conducting an environmental scan related to the research topic
- Complete a comprehensive, systematic search of current practices related to the research topic
- Collect, extrapolate and synthesize collected data
- Disseminate findings through contribution to manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and other dissemination materials as required
- Attend and participate in research team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current enrollment in a ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ graduate program in good standing
- Ability to attend research meetings
- Experience in qualitative research activities or conducting environmental scans or other types of knowledge syntheses is an asset
- Understanding healthcare systems is an asset
- Experience working in emergency or perinatal nursing or related healthcare field is an asset
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability, initiative, excellent organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and attention to detail are essential.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and software such as Microsoft 365 suite or equivalent programs is required
This position is covered by a Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. Priority will be given to ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ students.
