Earlier today ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ participated in a virtual meeting with Dr. Heather Morrison and representatives from the PEI Chief Public Health Office, as well as Holland College and Collège de l’Île, to discuss updated, temporary public health guidance that goes into effect immediately for post-secondary education on PEI.

Despite a safe fall semester, due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the region and the arrival of the highly transmissible Omicron variant to PEI, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ is making some important health and safety changes as we near the holiday break and approach the 2022 Winter Academic Semester.

On August 31, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ updated its process for the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and issued a message to students, faculty, and staff.

Dear Faculty and Staff,
Over the past year and a half, we have worked together to overcome tremendous challenges during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. While ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has done very well to return to a more in-person educational delivery mode for the fall semester, it has become very apparent that we need to take further measures in order to ensure that our campus continues to be as safe as possible for all members of our community.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ launches $3 million campaign to support performing arts
For Dr. Karem Simon and Dr. Greg Doran, this day has been a long time coming.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s new residence building, now under construction, will be home to a new performing arts venue, including a 400-seat theatre. The University is launching a campaign to raise $3 million to enhance and deliver outstanding programming and state-of-the-art equipment for that venue, as well as renovate the beloved and historic Dr. Steel Recital Hall.
ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ to hold Convocation celebrations for the classes of 2020 and 2021
Gill health project led by AVC faculty member receives $4.7 million in funding
A project to develop an early warning system for identifying complex gill disease on salmon farms, led by Dr. Mark Fast, professor of fish health and immunology, Atlantic Veterinary College at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, has received $4.7 million in funding through Genome Canada’s Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP).
