The upcoming course, "Writing for the Workplace" includes two days in the classroom (October 10 and November 14) with the remainder of the course taking place online. Participants will complete approximately 3 hours of work each week. Writing for the Workplace will help you master the following specific skills: -Writing summaries that are accurate and detailed -Writing reports with clarity and focus -Using appropriate language for business context -Avoiding technical errors -Composing effective e-mails and observing e-mail etiquette -Creating effective reports, proposals, and employee evaluations For more information, visit or contact lifelong@upei.ca, 566-0336
The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Student Union is partnering with Farm Credit Canada's Drive Away Hunger to help support local food banks. We are excited about this partnership as any food or monetary donation collected will go to support the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Food Bank. All donations can be dropped off at the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Student Union office by Oct 15. For more information contact Melissa at 566-0430.

The event has been moved to The McCain Foundation Learning Commons at AVC due to the pending weather forecast. The Donor Picnic is one of the many ways ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ is celebrating its donors - please join us! The picnic will be followed by the Recognition of Founders Ceremony and the MacLauchlan Plaza dedication.

Please join us in the plaza outside the Health Sciences Building to honour the 2013 founders: Janice Robertson (posthumously), Bob MacAulay (posthumously), Verner Smitheram, Mike Read, and John and Carol MacLeod (Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award). Reception to follow in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Rain location: McMillan Hall.
The first annual Subway Panther Pride 3v3 basketball tournament will take place on Sunday, September 29 at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre and Colonel Gray High School. The tournament will raise funds for the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Women’s Basketball program in support of their exhibition game schedule and athletic financial awards. The tournament will feature five divisions for both males and females—grades 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, an open recreation division, and an open competitive masters division. Registration is $60.00 per team with teams of three to four players. PEI History of Medicine Society September 27 at 7 pm Main Building Faculty Lounge The first meeting of the PEI History of Medicine Society will feature Dr. Sasha Mullally, history professor at UNB, on the topic of "The Origins of Occupational Therapy in North America: Therapeutic Craft, Creativity and Productive Citizenship, 1890s-1940s." Dr. Shannon Murray (ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ English) will also speak on “John Milton's Blindness: a Seventeenth-century Consultation." All are welcome!
