Hosted by the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Department of Music, the PEI Registered Music Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association present trombonist Jo Dashney, winner of the 2024 Atlantic Young Artist Competition, with pianist Stella Hui. The program includes 20th- and 21st-century works by David Biedenbender, Kevin Day, Alexei Lebedev, Anthony Plog, and Barbara York.

Peter Allen is one of Canada’s most respected and talented musicians, known nationally as a concert pianist, composer, conductor, and teacher. He will perform works by Haydn, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and some of his own bagatelles.

There is a palpable buzz surrounding the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Panthers men’s hockey team as they enter the 2024–25 season, and it’s easy to understand why.
Last year, the Panthers were in the midst of a rebuild, and expectations were modest. However, the team defied those expectations, as key veterans rose to stardom and a wave of promising rookies developed into core roster pieces. With the return of those young standouts and some intriguing new additions, the Panthers are primed to continue their upward trajectory.

Elsevier, in collaboration with Stanford University, has unveiled its latest compilation of the world’s most influential and top-cited scientists (top 2%), offering a comprehensive view of academic impact across disciplines. The —which includes 17 ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ researchers—provides a nuanced picture of scholarly influence, measuring both career-long achievements and single-year impacts and is intended to address the misuse of citation metrics.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Department of Music Recital
Renowned concert pianist, composer, conductor, and teacher Peter Allen will present a piano recital on October 24. Known for his captivating interpretations, Allen has performed over a dozen concertos with Symphony Nova Scotia and is frequently heard on CBC national radio. A prolific composer, he has completed numerous commissions for various instrumentations, including concerti, orchestral works, and solo piano compositions. The upcoming recital will feature works by Rachmaninoff, Haydn, Ravel, and his own Bagatelles.
