Goals and Priorities

Presidential Initial Priorities, Goals, and Activities for the period June 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Board of Governors and President Rodgers agreed on initial priorities, goals, and activities for the period June 1, 2024–June 30, 2025.  

Activity and progress on the goals and priorities will be reported at least annually.

  1. Sponsor the mission, values and priorities set forth in ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s 2018–2023 Strategic Plan.
  2. Kickstart the next Strategic Planning cycle with a consultative process to address 2025 to 2030 timeframe for the University. 
  3. Invest the time necessary to reinforce relationships with leaders, partners and stakeholders locally, nationally and internationally. 
  4. Lead the ongoing implementation of the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Action Plan in response to the 2023 ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Review, conducted by Rubin Thomlinson.
  5. Lead the implementation of a refresh of the University’s leadership team and organizational structure review, including confirmation of scope of responsibility in executive portfolios. This includes recruitment, development and mentoring of the senior management team. 
  6. Support the Board in the completion and implementation of the governance review.
  7. Work with Memorial University, the Government of PEI, the medical community on PEI and other stakeholders to establish an accredited Faculty of Medicine at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. 
  8. Work to support the continued development of an Indigenous Studies program at the University. 
  9. Annually develop the annual operating budget and maintain a three-year operating plan. 
  10. Continue to execute and refine the enrolment management and retention strategy.
  11. Commit the human resources, the financial resources and the infrastructure necessary to improve students’ physical and mental well-being. 
  12. Continue to upgrade the University’s technology infrastructure. 
  13. Continue to increase the University’s research capabilities. 
  14. Assist the advancement team with selected fundraising initiatives.
